Tutorial Details

1. Go to the download link (http://vfkbuddy.burbankparanormal.com/download.php)
2. Find your operating system and right-click the link for the most recent version
   • Select "Save Target As..." for Internet Explorer
   • Select "Save Link As..." for Firefox
3. Choose a location to save the file in the "Save As" dialog that pops up. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHERE YOU SAVED IT.
   • Make sure you don't use a folder name or directory structure that has spaces in it
   • "C:\vfkbuddy" is a good, simple location to place the file
4. Close the download window (if one popped up)
5. Find the location that you stored the downloaded file in Windows Explorer (you can get right to Windows Explorer with the "My Computer" link in your Start menu on Windows)
6. You may not need to use WinZip or WinRAR if you can right-click the file and see an option that says "Extract All..."
7. If you do not see "Extract All..." you can get an archiving client from either WinZip or WinRAR (or anywhere you prefer)
   • WinZIP: http://www.winzip.com/downwz.htm (you DO NOT have to enter your e-mail)
   • WinRAR: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm (find the first link that says WinRAR and use the 32 bit link if on a 32-bit system like Windows XP or the 64 bit link of on a 64-bit system like Windows Vista)
8. To extract:
   • "Extract All..." - right-click, choose "Extract All...", and follow the instructions in the Wizard that pops up and don't change anything in order to have the simplest installation
   • WinRAR - right-click and select "Extract Here"
   • WinZIP - right-click and then "Open With..." and choose WinZIP
9. Go into the extracted folder and run the opening batch file ("vfkbuddy.bat"). It may show up with no icon at all or may have an icon of a window with a gear in the middle of it.
10. Double-click the vfkbuddy.bat file and if you see the black box appear (and it doesn't immediately close) you'll know the program is going to start. Enjoy!
